With war behind us we are left with a hollow lonely feeling in our hearts, not to mention some knots and bruises in our muscles. This wondrously fun event will be held in Metcalf Park, which has beautiful mature trees to block that occasional breeze that we get. There is also a fenced in play ground to help keep those smalls corralled. There will be a light luncheon that is included in the site fee. Mixed Weapons War

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

March 14, 2008toMarch 16, 2008

Greetings to all,

SunDragon’s spotlight event, Mixed Weapons War will be on March 14th through 16th, 2008. We would like you all to know that this year you can go to the ACCEPS web site and preregister and prepay your site fees and feast fees at:
http://acceps.ansteorra.org/index.php

Due to the popularity of this event we strongly encourage that you take advantage of the advance payment system through ACCEPS. There is a $1 per transaction fee and you will need a debit or credit card to make your reservation. THE DEADLINE FOR ACCEPS REGISTRATION IS MARCH 10TH! After that date you can only pay by cash or check made out to: Barony of SunDragon, SCA Inc. at the event.

As always this will be a busy event with lots of fighting. Their Excellencies Baron Ryan and Baroness Katheline will be holding their final court on Friday evening. Lord Robert and Lady Theresa will be invested as the next Baron and Baroness of SunDragon on Saturday
morning. We have added Equestrian activities this year, so there will be equestrian tourneys on Saturday. Remember the site is an Equestrian Resort! So a lot of the site is open for your riding pleasure. There will be armored combat activities, rapier activities, youth combat activities and plenty of archery. Saturday
evening is Robert and Theresa’s Investiture Feast, put on by Lady Jacquelin de Normandie; the feast is by reservation only only so remember to get your reservation early because seating is limited.
The annual Jugger Tourney will be conducted on Saturday evening. If you unfamiliar with our Jugger Tourney, it is a team activity that is a mix of armored combat and modern day football. On Sunday
morning we rise to the Kon Hawke Memorial Helm Auction and Tournament. Proceeds go to support local nonprofit theater groups.

If nothing else just come out and enjoy this wonderful site. Empty Acres is a privately owned site with more than enough room for our activities. If you’ve never been here then you need to come and see it. We will be using the 17 acre grass field (yes, grass) that we used last October for our Baronial Champion and Chatelaine tourney weekend.
