Come all to participate in one of the longest running tourneys in the Knowne World, The Great Helm Tournament of the Barony of Tir Ysgthir. Watch as the fierce and chivalric warriors of the Boar battle to be Captain of the Guard, as his time is coming to close. Bear the ancient Great Helm and become part of Its history.

The Posadnik and Posadnitsa, Ivan and Ianuk, call for all warriors of their fair Barony to don their armor and take to the tournament field on Saturday, March 22nd, 2008. After Their Excellencies hold court the tourneys of the day will begin. The victor of the Great Helm tourney will go on to serve as the Captain of the Baronial Guard for the next year and will bear the honor of Keeper of the Great Helm of Tir Ysgithr. There are many places of honor for fighters in our barony and our Rapier fighters bring great glory and honor to Tir Ysgithr as well as guard our lovely Baroness. A Rapier Challenge tournament will be held this day to determine the Captain of the Baronial Rapier Guard. The victor of this tournament gains the title of Baronial Rapier Champion in addition to the honor of guarding Her Excellency, the Baroness of Tir Ysgithr.

On Sunday, March 23rd, 2008, again at Himmel Park, two more glorious tournaments shall be held in honor of Their Excellencies! Tourney the First: the Tournament for the Baronial Guard. By tradition, this tournament is fought with pole arms and those who place in the final three will become the Baronial Guard for the following year. The Baron also will choose a Banner Bearer to carry the Baronial Colors in combat. Enjoy the final round when the Captain of the Guard takes on his new guardsmen! Tourney the Second: The Youth Baronial Champion Tournament shall be held. The young fighters in our Barony are a force to be reckoned with!
